Bat Bunnies is a ridicules story about vampires doing good if that was possible they wouldn’t be  feared by mankind in myth and legend but not at all like that other comic Space Vampires, mine is less glam and more slam.   I have been a fan of Bone by Jeff Smith since I started reading it early in its publication around issue 7 and really like his animated style, a real pro at squash and bounce and a former animator of the Jettson’s. I have always liked vampires ever since my late Dad told me scary stories about them living in castles and him pretending to be one to scare me half to death at bed time stories. The main comic BB is based on rescue and adventure such as a fairy tail where the princess is captured denied and and held hostage by at least two evil’s the main story is that the princess can get herself out of any near death experiences and when with her family of a father and 3 vampire rabbits she is near enough indestructible I think my adolescence has a sa...

Derrek Riggs has been an influence since I was about 10 years old and now in this project his art and talent re- mains with me not only did he invent EDDIE the Iron Maid- en mascot but also got kicked out of art college for disagree- ing with his tutors about the course he was on in London in the 1970’s so is an artistic rebell perfect for Iron Maiden and their music. in the 80’s and 90’s Crit and context of your project, Mine is a comic about being wrong and at odds with different species from a vampires point of view and looking at how other illustrators do their art I have included TMNT and Bone  as inspirations, both early issues were done in pen and ink. The trans- formations in my work has a much more character based type of story rather than a single concept but artists such as The target audience would be 15+ Progression of work colour experiments page by page the story develops and I am always keen to keep it interesting and set a good pace from the start. The ...

As things develop in the story I am finding it more and more difficult to stick to the brief as just a visual journey and to only include sketches but here we have Grenda's demise but she has turned into a vampire bat which appears to be just in time as the pair of Garlic lords come to put her to sleep if you want to follow the story its Chris Flynn on Facebook where I am putting each page as I finish them...:)
if you want to see more of my work you can check it out at www.defencebucket.co.uk the aim now is to do a complete finished story by next April so hopefully the body of work will be well paced drawn and written to the best of my ability - :)

I am coming to the end of writing and I am planing Grenda's escape from her enemies, the Garlic Lords to be reunited with her family of her Dad (Rotten Count) and the 3 rabbits, but will they be tracked down by the vampire hunter now that their planet has been destroyed by a meteorite, they think of flying to Earth to feed!
Now that I have completed several pages and made further sketches to outline the characters things are starting to work out and develop and after my degree will include this one off comic in a graphic novel of all the comics I have done whilst at college totalling about 220 pages.   I feel that my work on this project,  Bat Bunnies is different from most of the main stream books and is also quite original.
